Default 05 Brute Force

Hey guys,
I'm looking into buying a bigbore utility after riding sport quads for many years. There is a low miles/hours 05 Brute Force 750 for sale locally and I'm wondering if there is any reason to stay away from the first year Brute Force. I've heard that they may handle strangely, feel tippy, etc. I do some moderately fast trail riding and my reason for switching to a 4x4 is for tougher trails and playing in rocks and snow, so I'm not crazy about a machine that feels top heavy or unstable. Any input on the handling and stability would be great. Also, are there any common problems with these quads or things i should look for if i go see this beast? Thanks for the help.
Ray
