If you are going from a Trailboss 250 to a V, you will feel like you jumped on a rocketship. I own both a KFX400 and a highly modified V. Even before I started doing things to the V it would beat the 400. One thing to remember about the V when it comes to riding trails is that you have additional ground clearance over a chain driven quad. That ground clearance is a definate plus when it comes to the rough stuff. The V is heavy and there is no doubt about the fact that if you want to fly through the woods, it will not make it easy on you. However, if you aren't trying to rotate the earth, there are very few 2wd quads out there that are as capable at getting yopu where you want to go as the V.

well, i agree that is a big jump. but i wont get one till im done with highschool [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img].

the ground clearence is 6.3inches on the 700.and they weigh 516 pounds.

 

You have to watch out for how they measure ground clearance. Most of the factory specs measure ground clearance from the lowest part of the frame. However, everyone knows that that is NEVER the lowest point. On a Chain driven quad, the rear sprocket and the rear brake rotor are way below the lowest part of the frame along with the fact that most "Sport" quads run 20" tall tires. With the KFX700, the rear brake is internal and there is a ring and pinion instead of a sprocket, so there is more ground clearance. Plus the KFX700 comes with 22" tall tires.

 

i bet that orange crush, i mean bombardiaer 650 gave you a run for your money.i also bet he beat you in the long run also. i call my bike the orange crush.

And you are 100% stock and beating those machines? If so either my father's is slow or yours is fast, because stock-for-stock my '05 z400 would stick right next to him like glue.....

After his dual exhaust and jetting he pulls away from me...

However my buddies from NJ brought up a 450r with HRC kit and a YFZ450 with pipe and jetting and totally spanked him..... so much so he wants more mods now....

 

I own both a KFX400 and a KFX700 (Since New). When both were Stock, my 700 would pull my 400 easily, even with a lighter rider on the 400.

 

My 700 is bone stock except for rims.I can jump a 400 out of the hole about 2 bike lengths and thats the way we will stay all the way to top end.The 450s i can jump out of the hole but they will pass me pretty fast.
