One other thing that I should have mentioned. Having a cvt doesn't automatically mean you will get a rock solid flat shift out rpm. The stock shift out on my V-Force was not "flat". It is somewhat load dependant so rider weight must have some effect if you weigh 150lbs or 250lbs. With the stock weights I had 700-800 rpm creep in my stock shift out from 20mph to 60 mph. The whole idea of the cvt is when you pin it, it should go to peak hp rpm and stay there until it runs out of gear. 7k with a full shift out is about 60 mph(give or take) on stock tires.
That was the point that I was getting at in my earlier post when I said "BY" 40 I was turning almost 8k. With the stock weights I was never able to get it to stop creeping and give me a solid shift out rpm. With the aftermarket weights I'm at 7k from 20 to just under 60 mph. That spot where the pull just goes away around 35 or 40 mph with the stock set up is gone now.
Tuning your clutch is well worth the time and effort. Even the best pipe is worthless if you aren't turning the right rpm to make power. Hope this helps
