Bayou 300 need fuel help
96' Bayou 300 4x4, when I push on throttle motor starts to rev up but then dogs out, spits and sputters, wants to die. It will do this for a little bit then finally run smooth. It will do this either in gear or out. Is it flooding out or starving for fuel? And how can I cure this?.........Thanks.

Bayou 300 need fuel help
Does the ATV run smooth before the throttle is pressed? It be a clogged jet if it runs fine in idle. I just rebuilt the carb on my 98 bayou 300 because the fuel ran out the bottom. While rebuilding it I learned there is a pilot and a primary jet. According to one repair shop the pilot is for at low rpm's such as idling and then when the throttle is pressed the main jet is used. Another item might be the float. If the float is set to low the motor would starve and die. if it is to high it would flood and die. The last thing I would check is the battery. I recently learned if the battery is bad then the ATV will die due to not able to keep the spark. This are just a few of the most common causes.
