Just bought another used Kawa...

it's a 2001 Kawasaki Bayou 220 Been through the mill but runs Great, it has a bad oil leek on topside engine casing where the drive shaft cover bolts to the engine casing, after cleaning the engine I can see that part of the gasket is missing,
I'm not sure but I think this part has been removed and re-installed without a new gasket. the person I bought it from mentioned nothing of any engine or transmission repairs so I assumed it had never been worked on....
the oil that is coming out looks milky white color, this I do not understand because it is an air cooled engine, not water cool, so I know water is not mixing anywhere,... would this be because of the wrong kind of oil,, the guy said that he would just ad SAE 30 when ever it got low, is the milky oil cause by windage in the crankcase foaming it up?or has he put some kind of stop leak in it?
I'm thinking that this engine would call for a speacial trans-oil? would it have a wet clutch system.... I know the 2-stroke engines do use trans-oil in their crankcase.... but not sure of the 4 strokes.
can someone please advise as to what oil should be used?
Thanks in advance

I found out that it takes synthetic 10W-40 nothing special like the trans-oil... I think I got the leak fixed
by removing the side cover at the driveshaft, installed a Permitex Gasket, letting it cure before adding oil, I found that the transfer gear is housed to itself in the cover and appears to have a white gear lub on it.. this would explain the reason of the milky oil if this lube were to mix with the oil why its turning the oil milky.
