Brute 650i squeaking
#1
I have an 06 Brute 650i that has developed a very loud squeaking in the rear end only. I have trouble shot this as much as I know how. I have taken the wheels off and oiled every joint I can find--it still squeaked. I then removed a shock--it still squeaks. This is coming from both side in the rear. The best I can tell, it sounds like it is coming from the boot quards, although they are not torn, and don't appear loose. Can anyone help please?

All of the above. You don't even have to go over bumps. Just grap the rear rack with it sitting in the garage and rock it a bit, or push down side to side and it will certainly let you know its there. When riding, it is loud enough to easily hear over the noise of the engine--very loud.
I have oiled (Gibbs penetrant) everything in site with no results. Took the left rear shock off, rocked it a little and it is there. It is not in the shck for sure.
Thanks

I have heard this squeak before. Its load annoying and doesn't matter what you try to oil or grease because its to late for that. REAR U-Joint. I've got a friend with a Can-Am 800 had the same squeak and had it for awhile finally it broke and took the brake disc out with it. Just be glad Kawasaki's don't have the rear shaft brake. SO no guarantee, but I would give it a good look.
Hope this helps

I found it! It was the sway bar rubber bushings. They were dry of grease. I took the bar off and applied waterproof grease, then reassembled everything, and the squeak is gone. Thanks for the help.
