You know, the idea that a bigger new machine comes out after you buy the current model does often have a trade-off. Bigger engines usually equate into physically bigger machines. A lot of guys aren't concerned, but I am concerned about the weight of my machine and the possibility of being pinned under it. A Brute is a bit harder to repair, it's a V-twin that take s a lot of room in the chassis. Oil usage? I should be checking it anyway. If they could make the Brute with a better ride and softer seat, higher compression/bigger bore (same chassis size), and maybe power steering option, it would be unstoppable versus the competition. <span class="FTHighlightFont">I won't call it a Cadillac. That's a Polaris. The Brute is a Hummer H1 in full battle trim.(not that *****-assed urban H2 either). JMHO</end quote></div></span ft>
Amen my thoughts exactly

If one of the 2 actuators go bad which they do you cann't go over 20mph.
</end quote></div>
Above is NOT true.
Actuator failure does not govern vehicle speed. Only the belt failure does. Also, it's not 20 mph limit. It's more like 5 or 7 mph at the most. It's called Limp Home Mode (programmed in igniter or ECU depending on year) which kicks in when the belt (toggle type) switch inside the CVT housing gets tripped by either the damaged belt or worn out (too much slack) belt. Neither actuator has nothing to do with the Limp Home Mode.

Got 1800 hard miles on my 06 brute 750, Never been in the shop, belt light never came on at 100 hours, Uses a little oil when breaking trail in feet of snow. The Poo 800 i ride with is in the shop after lamost every weekend we ride and the grizz 700 cant go places we go so he stops and lets us break trial. I like the grizz but the Brute is a great reliable bike
