OK I hate to say this cause you guys will probly totally disagree with me ,buttttt.....It seems to me after much research that these Mojaves have some weak points such as Heads ( valve seats ) , shocks, lower sterring stem bearings , rear wheels hub splines, kick start leavers , rear parking brake, I have compiled this information by reading this forum as well as rebuilding a Mojave that I aquired and bought verious new parts and parts off e-bay, the bike runs good now but I really don't trust it, and my Hondas never gave me this much greif I'll know more after I get some more miles on it. I do like the fact that Kawasaki kept the Mojave the same from 87-94 that way the parts are plentyful at least.

yes they have weak points but they arnt major things. the rear shock is horrible i will admit but most of the time if your doing any jumping you are going to want to replace it anyways. the kick starter problem was fixd in the later years. who cares about a parking break just put it in gear. sterring stem bearings really isnt a big thing. keep check on in and replace them before they get to bad and im sure new ones will not go out for another couple of years at least. rear wheel hub splines seem to be fine on mine and ive had it a while maybe its on the ones that are 20 years old and never been replaced. valve seats just keep check on them and replace them when needed. everything wears out eventualy. if you take care of it and keep stuff adjusted proper then things will hold up better. And you can always get better and bigger valve sets from CWR when they wear out and get more power out of the whole deal.

well ive owned a rancher and i was rideing and the wheel fell off partly do to the hub splines going bad. and my buddy has a 300 fourtrax and his hubs striped out. but this was probaly because it was an 80's model and had never been replaced.things wear out eventualy. but i dont think any of us are getting worked up about this we are just telling are opinions just as you have told yours. its all good im not hurt or afended at all.

I have nothing against Hondas. My buddy has a Rancher and I have always thought the 400ex was a great looking machine. I saw a Limited edition 700 Raptor the other day that I REALLY liked but not looking to spend that kind of money anytime soon. And Smitty,a s much as I would like to, I don't have the money right now for the tires. Stock market hasn't been kind to me this year ! lol

I've been talking with Greg lately about what to go with for a carb. Debating on getting a used stock one from him or springing for one of his New Mikuni round-slides.What do you have for a carb in yours ?
