Default What is the correct drive belt tension?

I have an 01 kawasaki prairie 400 4x4. I removed the belt cover yesterday to inspect the belt. It seemed to be loose to me but I am not sure how tight it should be. I measured the belt and it is the correct length and width. The belt and quad has approximately 600 miles on it. I was wondering if it would be possible if the primary or secondary cluth is not opening or closing enough to keep the belt tension when the bike is stopped? With the bike at rest I can push down on the belt an push it down about 2 inches. IS this right I don't know. HELP!

I appreciate everyone who has taken the time to read my post. Unfortunately none of them has been able to give me a reply. Does anyone know of a web site or other forums where I might get an answer?
