bayou want run?
#1
hey folks i need some help in a bad way!, i have a 2000 bayou 220 that when i first start it with the choke on let it warm up take the choke off sometimes it will idle pretty good sometimes it will idle about 30 seconds then die. but the main issue is when you try give it gas it will die. if you feather it real fast it will accelerate but at low speeds it want take gas. i can get on it and try to ride it but when i put it in gear and ease on the gas it dies.the carb has been completely gone through it is clean with a new kit, head has been rebuilt, new timing chain, new air filter clean fuel, but it want run at low speeds. if you can get it started going down the road it will go if you really give it the gas but as soon as your rpm's drop it want run right. it is charging properly too, the battery is old and it dosent stay charged very good could this be the problem? any help would be appreciated.

sounds like you pilot jet is ether dirty or too lean. if its a mikuni carb, im pretty sure it is, your pilot jey needs to be IN more, move it about 1/4 turn at a time and see if this helps.

i'm not exactly sure what you mean by pilot jet. would this cause it to carbon foul plugs all the time. it will start and while it idles you barely give it gas it will die. you get it to going down the road and give it a lot of gas it will jump and take off like a bat out of @#&!. but when your going slow it will bog out and try die.
