I have an 06 bf 750 about a week ago my son tried to start when i was at work but the snorkels were capped off not letting it get any air.. Ever since then it work start unless by pull cord. When i hit the start button you can hear the starter spinning but the engine itself wont do anything. i replaced starter over weekend but i still have the same result. any help would be great

There is a gear between the starter and the flywheel gear. It may be stuck and not engaging into the bigger flywheel gear. Also, the flywheel gear has a one way bearing on it that could be the problem. The pull start is connected to the crank and bypasses all these gears. You will need to take the side cover off and have a look. Buy a manual and do it the right way. You will need to drain the A/F and disassemble the water pump cover etc. Be careful with it. There is a ceramic seal back in there that you have to be gentle with. Drain the oil. Buy a new side cover gasket. You will find the problem once the side cover is off.

Do you have an aftermarket CDI in it? Sometimes they kick back and break teeth off the flywheel gear. I've changed mine out due to this.

OK thanks, yea i have a cdi box and power module. Do you think that either of those could drain a battery when any other accessory comes on (lights, winch, cooling fan,.etc...)
