its the largest jet... get a $25 rebuild kit, and replace all the parts, if you need the part..

take off float, needl valve, pull great big jet, clean out gunk, put in an inline filter

jeffeosso, the pilot is not the bit jet, that is the main jet, the pilot is usually found right in front of the main, inside a little tube, you need a small screwdriver to remove it. the port in it is so small, you can barely see light through it, very easy to gum up and plug, make sure it is squeaky clean by blasting carb spray through it and blowin it out . Without the pilot jet, it will not idle, or idle very badly.

okay. .then main jet is where they get junked up badly.. its basically main fuel line to there.. then into the carb, then up the pilot, main, and fuel mixture...

when you pull start it, the motor turns over a lot faster, and longer than a kick,so that's why it will start, but with a gummed up idle circiuit, it will not idle very well. If you don't feel comfortable taking the carb apart, take it off the quad, and to a shop for a good cleaning, or find a buddy with some tools and experience. It isn't that hard to take the bowl off, clean out passages with a can of cleaner, remove the jets and clean all the little holes and reassemble. If nothing else, find a good Haines or other manual for instructions.

Sounds like junk in the bowl causing fuel to be choked off, your best bet is a good cleaning out of the carb, let us know how it goes after that.
