bayou 300 won't stay running
#1
I am able to start my Bayou 300 with the choke open and the engine will run just fine. However, as soon as the choke is closed or I try to rev the throttle with the choke open, the engine dies.
My plan is to disassemble, clean, and reassemble the carburetor according to the factory specifications for float height, pilot screw rotations, etc. I have already removed the fuel tap and noticed a lot of trash on the fuel screens. I don't know what role if any this would have in my current problem. I also checked the air filter and it is clean.
Do you have any other suggestions for what might be causing the problem? Should I inspect/reassemble more components than just the carb? Is there anything else in the carb I should look for specifically?
Thanks.
