OK... so I will just go straight to the source here and ask... How would this quad be for an east coast trail rider... Almost all woods use and no sand at all...

I know it ought to be good for going fast, hitting the tracks, etc...

But what about for slow technical stuff?
I've heard some rumors that it's the best trail 450....

It would be replacing a 400EX.
(Need to trade it in or hop up the internal engine)

My considerations are...

'08 Suzuki LTZ 400
'08 Kawasaki KFX 450R
'08 Polaris Outlaw 450 MXR
'06 Polaris Outlaw 500
'08 Polaris Outlaw 525 S
'08 Polaris Outlaw 525 IRS
'08 Yamaha 700R

The fact that it has reverse makes it the best trail 450 in my opinion. It doesn't have the width of a YFZ450R or LT-R450 so thats a plus. So of the current 450's, this is the one I would go for since I ride tight MN trails.

Thanks for the input.

I'm not getting email notifications of replies for some reason.
Are you guys having the same issue?

OK... now that I know it's not just me...

Anyways, any idea what EFI controllers cost for quads?
I guess that's a consideration to check out...

EFI controllers cost about 250-350. The KFX is a great bike. At the pro level of racing they are having a hell of a time making it a front runner.(GNCC) The EFI hurts it on the dead motor starts. But at the same time the quad is geared towards acceleration over top speed. This helps it in the tight trails.

I was also thinking (stupid on my part financially) about considering a Rekluse clutch conversion, which is available for ANY of the 450's... as well as a few others.

OH, and the more I think about this, the more I'm starting to think the same thing.
My other one has reverse and my EX does not... makes a difference.

Plus this thing has EFI too, which I might like better.

Well, I've made a mistake... the Outlaw 450MXR has reverse also.

I've since read it has great low end and it's hard to tell from the 525 (ktm engines).

It makes some sense too I think because the KTM motors are long-stroke.
72mm?
