rebuilt the top end because it got sunk. scored the cylinder walls pretty bad. honed them out and put new rings on. fired it up and everything was just like new. kid took it home and it started knocking. thought maybe i had to take too much out of the walls to clean it up so i brought it back and tore the front down again. the cylinder is fine and the piston is fine. but the rod is loose on the crank. so i have two questions
would tearing the top end off cause rod bearing failure.
is there a way to service the rod without tearing the motor in half?
