has anyone lengthened their stock mojave swingarm ? i'm thinking of adding 2" to mine but would like to know what problems might accure when i do this...
also i'm looking for rear tires for my quad, i put a 13tooth sprocket on the back to get more speed so i don't want a 20" tire. but i do want a tire that will slide easier than a stocker. i have razrs on the front, but maxxis doesn't make a 22x11x10 razr.
thanks fellow mojave riders...

I lenghtened my swingarm on my 1990 2 1/4 inches. What I did was took measurements of the stock swingarm and wrote them down. Then i cut off the bearing carrier housing. I removed the angled braces and replaced then with 3/4 inch tubing. I used plate steel to connect the swingarm to the bearnig carrier housing. Tac weld everything up, then remeasure to mack sure everything is square. It looks realy good. I also have a swingarm Jawz Performance extended 1 inch. What they did was cut the tube that is before the bearing carrier housing and after the shock mount and used plate steel to make the circle into a oval.
Another option is to take it to a racecar shop and see if the can do it for you.

Or you can get a Lakota swing arm (pre2001) which are one inch longer. Its better than nothing and an easy swap.

I put two inches in just in front of the carrier by using a couple peices of square tubing just like the swing arm is made of. 1x2 if i remember right. Making a jig before you cut the arm is a good idea. this will keep it straight when you weld it up. You will have to make some mods to the skid plate if you want to run it. You will love it with the extra length. I like the Holeshot XCT 22" tall rear tires. they will slide on turns and hook up on the straights. A 22" tire will give you more ground clearance as well as keeping your gearing where you want without changing the rear sprocket.
