Prairie 300 problems
#1
Ok guys, I have a 2001 prairie 300 that has me kinda baffled. I'm pretty much a novice when it comes to working on atv's, so hopefully someone can point me in the right direction. I will try to make this as short as possible. I recently bought it from a man who had the carb jetted for 45 degrees and below. I decided to take the carb off and pu the factory jet back in and clean the carb. Since then whenever I crank it up it runs awsome untill it gets warm and then it shuts down. Now I can get it to crank back under choke however as soon as i take it of of choke or hit the throttle it shuts down. If i let it cool back down it will crank and run fine until it warms up again. I have changed the coil thinking that might be the problem but, no change. I f anyone has any ideas please let me know, it will be greatly appreciated. Billy

Before doing this disconnect the throttle cable a manual feather the throttle during testing..
Back the Idle venturie screw in utill it bottoms out... not hard though.
turn 1 3/4 turns counter clockwise. If this works with the air intake pipe off... your good. Might need to adjust in very small increments depending on her personality....
put everything back together ... air box , intake pipe etc..
see if she still runs the same.. your idle will drop a liitle once the air box is sealed up but that pretty easy to adjust.
by the way this was a brand new carb installed and the screw was out 4 turn from bottom
