Default Brute Force Weird Belt Problem

Okay. So I just got a new belt put on my Brute a couple weeks ago. It's the Carlisle belt. I just got my four wheeler back from the shop like 2 days ago, the valves needed adjusted and a new engine brake actuator put on. Well.. anyways.. The belt light came on and there is no way the belt has broken already, but the four wheeler does slow down and you can only go so fast. My friend was saying that when the light comes on, the computer or whatever stops the four wheeler from going any faster so i wont tear anything else up. So I guess my real question is, if I reset the belt light, will it fix it? or is there any possible way the belt could be broken already?

THANKS

sounds like it is in limp mode... I dont believe resetting the light will fix your problem. something isnt adjusted properly im guessing if you just replaced your belt, or you didnt get the correct belt

the belt light does come on after so many hours, but it doesn't effect your speed or being able to put your machine into 4 wheel drive. if you can only go less than 15mph and cant get into 4x4 mode then you are in limp mode and there is something more serious going on

try resetting the switch inside your belt cover that trips when the belt blows
