Default BF650 Belt light

Hi there ppl, any help would be greatly appreciated. My `07 Bruteforce's belt light has come on. I've removed the cover and i see no problem with. But my bike has no power, revs but wont go more than 20kph. Ive been told the light turns on after 100hrs of use but ive only done 70hrs. Is the belt light and the power problem linked?? Or two separate things? And how can i fix it?

Thanks for your time

belt problem and the power is loss is related as i have heard. When that light comes on it will limit you to a lowered rpm and will not let you engage 4x4 for safety and to keep you from damaging your quad. If there is nothing wrong with it i googled and found a way to reset my light on my kawi prairie without any problems. Not an expert but thats what i have read

I think You remove the belt cover and make sure the toggle switch is not tripped. If the belt has to much slack it will trip the switch. Unplug the wires coming out of the switch. Up by the fuel petcock is wires with a gray plug and black plug. Unplug both and connect black to gray and gray to black. Turn the key on for atleast 10 seconds and switch off. Reconnect wires to the right positions. Check the Kawasaki thread for better instructions.
