Default KFX 400 Cheap Mods

Hey everyone, My KFX 400 has a full Trinity Stage 5 Exhaust system and a K&N Air filter, and I was just wondering, is there any cheap mods I can do to it? Thanks.

hmmm... how cheap?

you could re-gear to better suit your application

you could get an upgraded accelerator pump cover for supposedly better throttle response

you *MAY* be able to get a thinner base gasket for increased compression. im not really sure about on quads, but i know the drz400 guys do it all the time.

YFZ carb., adjustable CDI, shave the head .020-.025 a little extra compression, maybe lighten the flywheel for the cheap route.

You didnt say, but have you jetted your carb? I've got an 03 KFX with the FMF PowerCore 4, K&N, Jetted carb, Big Gun CDI. I went down to the 13 tooth since I ride wooded trails more than just straight haulin a$$. Big differance in low end. I dont do much straight line running so loosing a bit off the top really dident hurt my feelings. I ride the trails so much I dont even know if I have 5th gear anymore.

Thanks man, I love the black wheels too! I gotta get new tires though, and yes my carb is jetted, and I'm going to get the 13 tooth sprocket, but I usually ride alot of trails and do some jumps, and I never really get out of 3rd or 4th gear, so will I notice a big loss in power? Thanks
