Yes, just cleaning. As I stated I ran them through a sonic cleaner at least a dozen times. I was ready to put them back on and give up when I started it this time and it ran great. Never seen carbs this hard to clean, gas that was in unit you could varnish furniture with but still thought carbs would come clean quicker than that. TORK.

So im having a simular problem w/ my 03 650 prairie it only has 675 miles and 104hrs. When i got it the belt light was on it had sat for 2yrs. SO i put a new belt on it, reset the belt light put new plugs in and tried it out. It'd go good til about 29-30mph then it seemed like thats all it will go. Ive had a few of these machines n i know they should go at least 65+ granted ive got 27 ITP 589's which i know ill lose a lil but NOT that much. So i took the old gas out put super in and still have the same results so i pulled the carbs took all apart cleaned the bowls, jets everything and cleaned w/ carb and choke cleaner. Put back in and had the same results. It gets up n goes good to 30mph but then seems like thats it n kinda brakes down not a lot but if i hold it steady at 20 it runs fine. I can rev it up w/ it in neutral n seems to rev up fine. Oh and i jacked the rear end up check the breaks there not dragging, so i put it in gear and put it wide open n it will go 60.. This has me stumped any one have ne ideas??? Thanks

ok, i have a 2002 kawasaki prairie 650, and i was riding the other day for probly 8 hours. went and parked for the night came back the next morning and it wuldnt start. it would turn over but not enough to start. my uncle thinks its the timing chain. if the timing chain came off, what type of damage would this cause. we r taking it to a mechanic very soon who charges 45 an hour, would this be an easy fix for him?, we r kinda wanting to know how much money we will be getting into. thanks
