Hey all, I seem to have a slight, annoying skip or something at idle. Runs great, starts awesome hot or cold,and performs great. It's an 03 with moderate time on it. Air cleaner is clean and sealed, the plug was changed about 2 months ago, I ALWAYS run super unleaded gas. This is nothing new and no big deal but I was wondering if anyone has noticed this on their quad. Is it because the compression is so high and its a small motor? I put a Cobra jet pipe on it just after break in back in 03. It's always had a slight, little, weird skip at idle. My buddys Mojave does the same thing with the stock pipe on it...you just can't hear it as well. The repair manual says there is a fuel filter in-line but I can't seem to find it..thats never been changed lol.. thanks for any help

 

there is no in line filter on a mojave the filters are in the tank you have to un do the 2 bolts that hold on the fuel petcock and the filters will be connected to the petcock

I'll clean the petcock...see if I see an improvement...like I said it's not really a big deal. It may be time to give the carb a good cleaning anyway...good winter project until the ice on our lake is ready.

 

actually my brothers 89 mojave makes a slight tick noise too...we replaced everthing except the water pump and the oil pump you think it could be one of those???
