Default Belt light

Buy the shop manual and it tells you how to reverse the plugs on the belt housing with the key on for so many secounds . This light will come on every 100 hours. The belt should be inspected for damage every 100 hours. The belt catchs hell. If you have a repair shop or stealer near you that might be your best bet.

I believe the non blinking mode is more serious than the 100 hour inspection which is flashing mode of the same light... could be wrong but this is what I think.

Yes, you are wrong on that.

> Non-blinking (steady on) light is THE 100-hr inspection reminder light.

> Flashing light is the serious one because the belt switch got hit by either broken or belt with too much deflection. That's why quad goes into the limp-home mode when the light is flashing but not when steady on.

BTW, when checking, be sure to check the converter sheave surface for wear/grooves and the spider shoes clearance (all in the service manual).

You just reset the light and didn't check out the CVT system for wear and tear?

Exactly that's my point.
If you were only to reset the light and not checking anything on the CVT, it would be easier to just put a piece of electrical tape over the belt light (if it is the steady on light for 100-hr check) since that steady-on light does not affect the running condition.
