Is it normal for the rear handbreak to become totally useless on the lakotas. Ive only rode mine twice and it dosnt hardly work.

check the **** on the rear brake caliper. There is a round indented ****,turn it alittle bit clockwise and recheck the lever, repeat if nessary. This is explained in the manual.

I have had my Lakota since December. I ahve ridden it at least 20 times and have no problems with the brakes. I do here a "whirling" or "vibrating " sound though. I think its the chain and sproket, but it's in good shape. The rear skid plate they give you sucks. I am going to order a good one from my dealer. Other than that, no problems with the bike.

I do not have a problem. How rough are you on the brakes? do you slam them too much? My son used to ride my Bayou and every time he came back the brakes were shot and needed to be adjusted. That did not last long.
