Default lots of problems

My buddy has a 05 brute 750 im trying to get from him its in bad shape, real bad shape and he dont know whats wrong with it to start with it has been sitting in his shop for over a year. From what I remember it all started when he hydrolocked it with too much oil. drained it refilled it and it was fine for a few weeks. He went to ride somewhere with some people and he said oil was spraying his right leg he said it wasnt much but he put a rag when it was spaying from and it stoped so I didnt think he cracked the head. He gets it home and let it sit for two weeks and it will turn over but not start. So he get the great idea to start to try to fix it him self and im just watching him tear it apart he said the carbs just need to be cleaned long story short now. He broke one spark plug wire broke the electric fan and the snorkels and part of the fenders and the carbs are still on there. Well my question is im going to give him a few bucks for it and I mean like a 100 bucks. I also know it has two bent tie rods belt is a little loose but has a new one from dealer sittin on top in bag. I need a website for parts like the tie rods and fenders and spark plug wire among other things. and if anybody know what could spary oil like that on driver side thanks.

It sounds like a lot of issues but as long as the rods are not bent and there is no hole in the crankcase, it can be easily restored. If you can buy for a few hundred bucks, it would be a great fixer upper IMO.

The hot oil leak could have been the crankcase breather hose that popped off because of too high crankcase oil pressure (too much oil the owner put in). So, check the hose between the bottom of the air box and the crankcase.

I think your buddy is going to get the better end of the deal. You're basically going to give him $100 to move his pile of junk out of his garage and into yours. I have some junk...er, I mean projects, in my garage you may be interested in as well. Just kidding.

Even if you really love working on stuff like this, it sounds like this thing will be a money pit. Never knowing exactly what needs to be fixed/replaced, a lot of trial and error, never runs quite like it's really supposed to, etc.

Not trying to poo poo the idea, the parts guy is going to love you, just maybe some food for thought.
