Default Help with decoding a model / vin# on a Bayou 220

I have recently purchased a Bayou 220 but I am not sure what year it is. I have finally located the vin number on the frame but can't read all of the numbers. The vin# is JKBLFBA????B552402. Is the 02 at the end of the vin# the year. Also, where in the number does it specify it is a 220? Thanks, Steven

> No, the last two digit of the (last 6-digit of) VIN is not the model year.
> No, there isn't anything in the VIN that tells you it is 220.
> But Engine Number stamped on the crankcase should say something like "LF220AE************" and the number 220 refers to the engine cc size.
> The ???? in your VIN holds the clue to the exact model year.

Not too long ago, I worked on a 1997 Bayou 220 and the last 6-digt of VIN was somethime like 720*****. So, I am guessing your 220 is from early to mid 1990's production.
