Default air filter malfunctioned

I ride an 08 prairie. After a dusty ride I decided to clean my air filter. As soon as i removed the air box cover I noticed the factory air filter had come apart at the seam letting dust into my engine. Ive got an aftermarket filter ordered. The engine runs fine but im wandering how much damage was done. The carb intake looked clean but that doesnt mean anything.

Do a leak down test or at least compression check to see how tight the engine top end is. Is your Prairie 360?

from the manual...

Cylinder Compression Measurement
NOTE
Use the battery which is fully charged.

Warm up the engine thoroughly, and stop the engine.

Remove the spark plug (see Electrical System chapter).

Attach the compression gauge [A] and adapter firmly into the spark
plug hole.

Special Tools - Compression Gauge: 57001-221
Compression Gauge Adapter, M12
1.25: 57001-1018

Hold the throttle wide open and crank the engine with the electric
starter or the recoil starter several times.

When the gauge stops rising, stop cranking and read the gauge.

Cylinder Compression (Usable Range)
Electric Starter: 810 1260 kPa (8.3 12.8 kgf/cm
8182,
118 182 psi) @630 r/min (rpm)

Says 118 to 182 psi

**** should say I googled this info and took it from the highlifter site
