Hi! I finally got my races out of my swing arm.(lol) Iam now attempting to put my new bearing back in. I was wondering, the bearing came loose inside the race. when i tap the races and bearings back into place, do the bearing remain loose or are they suppose to be tight inside the race, so as not to be able to come out? Or does this all this tighten up when i put the sing arm back on the quad and put the bolts back in? Any advice would be appreciated as always.....thanks..bob I have a 2004 vtwin 700 prairie 4x4

 

The bearings will come out of that outter race. The race itself should fit tight inside the grove that they fit into or they are the wrong bearings, but the outter race and bearings are able to be separated without any problems.

When you get it all back together it will stay in place.

Good luck.... This is the hardest part of the job.... Getting it all put back together... LOL

Is this what your talking about? If so, then perfectly fine.
The outter race is already inside the swingarm on this pic by the way.

No problem... Been there, done that, and bought the t-shirt, but used it as an oil rag already... LOL!

Like yourself, I use forums to figure out questions when I'm not t sure on something new, so just trying to repay the favor...
