2003 Bayou

My 2wd atv is grinding when I put it in first gear but will shift through the rest. Any ideas of what the problem would be ? Clutch ?

If it grinds only going into first but not in the rest of the gears,then sounds like a shift fork or slider gear problem in the transmission. Might try to lower the idle and see if it helps any.
