98 Kawi Prairie 400 4x4 carb hoses
#1
Got 2 same year, same type, junker '98 Kawi Prairie 400 4x4's, basket cases.
Making one good one out of 2 rotten ones. Got one together, running pretty good. Fought the good fight trying to get it to run more than 5 minutes at a time. Finally figured out it was the fuel tank vent line that was plugged up. Should've been a no brainer. Ya, not so much. Aside from the other major issues (broken Forward/Reverse shifter pin, CVT drive belt installed backwards, plastic all busted up, etc.), I had to replace the pilot jet as I couldn't get the old one cleaned out. I drilled it out with the smallest brad nail I could find. Turned out to be WAYYY to big and the engine was obviously stupid rich at idle. $8 on ebay fixed that.
I've got two 'vent' hoses coming out of the carb...Not sure where they were originally routed. One hose is an overflow hose from the float bowl (I think) and the other one should be a vent from the power piston.
Anybody familiar with where these two hoses 'should' be routed on the frame?
