Default 08 prairie 360 clutch ?

Have a line a a really clean 08 360 for cheap . The guy was replacing the clutch and thinks he stripped the bolt bc he didn’t know it was reverse threads . It will tighten back down a little but as soon as you give it any kind of gas it slips. Can the crank be re tapped and threads cleaned easily . And also does anyone know the thread pitch and specs on the clutch bolt trying to decide if it is worth it to pick the bike up

You might be able to use a Helicoil. I'd want to get it for a "really good deal". Talk to a machinist, as well.

Yes, talk to someone that has plenty of exp repairing threads.

I screwed up my prairie 400 threads by using a puller which didnt have the correct dia on the end so as I was tightening the puller it was going into the crank and rounding the tops off the crank threads.

I was able to gradually thread in the clutch bolt using plenty of lube and threading the bolt in and out, re-lubing, and threading in a tiny bit further, removing and lubing, etc. that was 11 years ago and all is well.

I bought a reverse tap and never had to use it. It is a m12 x 1.25 LH Tapco tap. That was over 10 years ago.

If your clutch bolt threads are destroyed, it might be possible that the crank threads just need touched up with a reverse tap.

Again, my machine is a prairie 400. Year 2000 4x4. I checked kawasakis fische and it appears to me they use the same primary clutch bolt. They say 12 x165 so I believe that means 12mm x165mm.

I had same problem. I ordered the tap and was able to clean up threads. It was about 12.00 for the tap.
