Hello guys. I recently sold my sportsman 500 and i am looking seriously at the 650 twin. Man it looks like quite a piece of machinary. Has anyone drove one, i know that the magazines love it. How do you think it would handle bigger tires? And lastly how fast is the thing.

Thanx

Victor69er, if you used to own a Sportsman 500, then take a test ride on the 650 Prairie. You will know right away if it is really worth it, as the Sportsman is the nicest riding quad when unloaded and is also quite fast. I rode the 650 and I'm still smiling. I would be surprised if it doesn't handle big tires very well, although you will have to make sure you have enough clearance between the inside of the right rear tire and the gas tank. It is a very powerful engine and has instant throttle response. With its locking front differential, and low center of gravity, it should go just about anywhere. It also has the most beautiful sound of any quad. The Sportsman may still have the most comfortable ride, but the Prairie is very comfortable too, and is a rush to ride for a utility quad. The magazines say that the top speed is close to 65 mph..
