Sweet swingarm, man.
I have another question for you-I notice from your website that you still use the stock airbox. I was wanting to replace that monster with some type of cone filter such as a K&N that clamped directly on the carb with an Outerwares on it. I don't ride thru deep mud or water-do you (or anyone else who has an opinion on this) recommend against this? I read the previous post on this subject and it seemed like a good idea-just want some more input.

Lurch,
I am interested in the swing-arm. What's the cost? Could you use the Mojave carrier? Where did you get the steel braided brake line? thanks

The cost of the swingarm is $550. It it 3" longer than stock and works awesome. The model I've been testing uses a PEP shock that came off of a CR500 linkage rear suspension. It gave my Mojave around 12". With this particular swingarm, you can use any brand rear shock, as long as it's for a 250R No-link (CR500) rear end. It can be configured to use the stock shock if you want to use the stocker setup. As you could see in the pics, I am using the stock housing. You can get a 250R type round housing with carrier and bearings for an additional charge. It's made out of 4130 Chromolly steel, custom painted with industrial paint, rather than powder coating. It's easier to touch up. Powdercoating is availible.

If you want to make an order, I'll arrange it.

The rear brake line is from FastLane Performance. I can also include it with the swingarm for an additional fee.

Hey Lurch, do me a huge favor and throw a side view from a distance pic of that beautiful machine on here with the new swingarm. That thing looks awesome! I am interested to see the legth of the machine and how far the wheels set back. Very nice machine! How much would you say you have invested in it? Whats with the bare Mojave frame on the other side of your garage? Thanks!

I've just updated my web page with allot of pics...and a side view before and after I installed the swingarm. Go to HERE see it all.

I should have my control arms in about 2 weeks, but the shocks may take longer. I will keep you good people updated on the progress.

Email me, or post, any questions you might have.

Until next time......

I have some suggestions for your machine. First is to buy Burgard Cycle 2" extended A-arms. I had them on my mojave when I raced motocross and they are simply awesome. Also replace that giant, wimpy, heavy 43 tooth rear sprocket with an Aluminum 37 tooth from Sprocket Specialists which works grat with the stock 12 tooth front running 18 inch rear tires. Last is to get rid of those sh!ty front tires and get some grooved radials or holeshot MX's. Please take my advice, Your machine will work a lot better if you do.

If you want a pic of the '00 mojave I had with all of this stuff done to it and MUCH More e-mail me at kxracer_1999@yahoo.com

Mojaveracer, I want to address a couple of things.....

1.) The PureSPort Bandits I'm running on the front of mt MO work great on some tracks. I've ridden grooved radials and am not impressed with the performance. I am, however, impressed with the performance of the Holeshot MX fronts. I may be getting a set for my birthday in a couple of weeks.

2.)IdahoATV, my sponsor, is who fabricated the trick swingarm, which I'm now accepting orders on, I'm running on my Mo. They are also designing and building a custom set of +3 wide +2 forward control arms for my MO that should be allot better than the Burgard. You see, the new control arms will utilize 250R longtravel front shocks, for an increase in wheel travel up to 14". The setup I have in the rear is around 12"-14" of travel now.

3.) You seem to think that I haven't thought of any of this on my own. Truth is that I've been around quads for 15 years and am way ahead of you. Right now I'm running a 13/38 gearing and have been for well over a year. I do change out the front sprocket from time to time, depending on the track. Plus I have a Modified KLR250 Ignition that has NO rev limiter. With it gearing the way it is, I can leap off the gate and when I'm in 3rd gear, I can rev it to the moon. That's where the most power is on mune, and it's a bad ***** in 3rd.

I almost ordered a set of Burgard arms and when I called them direct, I wasn't impressed with the response I got. I'm stickin' with what I know will work. My Mojave is always under construction.

"That's all I have to say about that."

P.s. I want to see pics of your Mojave. Send them to atv_racer2001@yahoo.com.
