well oh well nice news... i was the one that spoted the black trailer headed to vegas for the show last sept. on my way back from L.A anyway they had four or five different seals on the back of that trailer if i remember right so not just one person could open it... im really impressed on what you said about the plastic and yes it would make alot of sense trying to make it look like it was a home made junker or what ever ..... if they had as many people like you say they did than it was for keeps... for everyone that reads this can you tell me how you think they will keep the weight down???? i just cant figure it out but im not a enginer.... or a great speller.....hahaha anyway ive got a mojave now 99 its stock except for the hole that i drilled thru the muffler that bit was over one foot long but only 1/2 inch in size.. anyway the fourth of july i was up at the dunes in armagosa near vegas and went off a sand ledge 30 foot drop. in fourth gear thinking i new where i was and flew about 50 down on to the hard pack and broke two lower vert.. L.2 L,3 and so im laid up for a while ... i also landed perfectlly to put 12 stiches in my forhead . i had a full face helmet on but when i compacted i fell to the left and hit perfectly the box near the clutch e/ brake area and it left me out for two min. face down in the sand .... luckly my buddy was one min. behind me.. turned me over and tore his shirt off and coverd my nasty hole blood everwhere. oh after i came to he kicked the bike over for me and i rode back to my truck and drove to vegas hosptail 82 miles away bleeding like crazy.. well thanks for letting me tell this story to you guy s i just had to vent.... oh the bike is ok im just going do check the axle in a couple of weeks when the back starts to heel they say 6 week. what a fourth of july ill never forget. ps.... well never give up on this sport i still love it and i no it was a dum mistake that im lucky to have lived thru... I was thinking about the weight too....They can keep the center of gravity nice and low with the twin but the only way I can see them controlling the weight is the liberal use of aluminum. I think we're going to see a division come down the road where hopefully the manufacturers will offer open class bikes in the 650 range and smaller, lighter bikes about 450cc or so. The Raptor of course puts the target out there for Kawasaki to hit by combining light weight with the larger motor. Team Green has had plenty of time to do their homework on everyone else's machines with the exception of what Honda and Suzuki have cooking so I don't expect they will disappoint us. Of course since its Kawasaki we're talking about expect horsepower to be the primary concern and all else secondary. The company doesn't like to be outgunned motor-wise.

Maybe someone could just post it to their web site? Anyone?

trust me, kawi will FIND a way to keep the new sport quad light. I wouldn't be suprised if it is lighter than the DS650, even witht that VTWIN. this quad is going to rock! i wouldn't be surprised if the whole thing is almost completely made out of aluminum, or maybe some other alloy?? its going be the king of the hill.

It didn't look huge, like my new DS. It looked about the size of a Banshee. I know you can't tell much from the picture, but compare the rider to the bike, size wise. It's no monster.
I owned a V-twin street bike before (VX 800) and they have some big time advantages over a single. They are very narrow, very torquey, yet smoother than a single. Even if Kawi brings it out in a mild state of tune, the hop up potential for this thing is going to be tremendous. When you think of the horse power some guys are getting out of push rod Harley engines, a modern Jap V-twin starts looking pretty good. Now if VOR will just come out with a Ducatti powered quad we'll really be in business!

It absolutely has to be much lighter than the DS or Kawasaki will lose the battle of public opinion before anyone even swings a leg over the machine. They know that is one mark they have to stay well away from though I wouldn't be surprised if it did outweigh the Raptor a little bit.
