Sunday night at about 10:30 my wife and I lost everything in a fire that the insurance inspectors believe was started by the Warn winch I had installed on my Kaw 650 a week earlier. If you have a Warn winch on your wheeler take the time to make sure it's not one of the recalled ones. Believe me I don't want anyone to have to go through what we are going through right now! We lost 90% of our positions including two vehicles and two ATV's - The most important part is that we all got out safe- Thank God for that!!!!

I'm glad that you and your wife are ok. Did you have a Warn 2000 or 2500 winch?

Very sorry to hear that...very glad to hear you're all ok.

Were you notified of the recall? Is the maker of the winch aware that their defective product may have / did caused your loss?

OldManWheeler-
Very sorry to hear of your loss, Best of Luck to you and your family. Though insurance won't replace your lost memories, at least it will be a help in finding new ones. Hang in there, things will get better.

Best of Luck,

Mike

Sorry about your loss Oldman. Makes me glad I finally got off my behind and took my Kodiak in for the winch recall. If you didn't get a notice maybe you can get comp from warn since it was their winch that was the cause.

I've always enjoyed reading your posts and hope to keep on reading them in the future.
