Hi,,,can anybody give me some insight on the mojave kick start gears? I have my motor completely tore down for a new stroker crank and top end rebuild and was wondering what I should be looking for on the weak kick start system I've read about on this forum. any info would be apreciated. I have also read that there could be problems with the cams getting proper lubrication, due to the fact there the last items to recieve oil. Is there a way to boost oil pressure to help this out?? thanks

I would do a search on "mojave" or "kick starter gears" or something like that because I know I have seen this topic discussed on this forum before.

If you order a new kick starter idler gear from a Kawasaki dealer, also be sure to order the shaft, thrust washer, and circlip. None of this will interchange with the older version parts.

Be sure that your parts guy is paying close attention to his computer and notes the updated parts listed to the side of his screen.

I know that the updated gears were put in the '01s and '02s but I'm not sure about any models prior to that. Your parts guy will have the serial number break listed. just be sure to right down both your engine# and frame# when you go and order the parts[If your engine needs the update]
