I just got my 41 tooth sproket today, and I installed it with no problems. . or so I thought. Anyway, when I went to adjust the chain slack (Rotate the axle housing) It wouldn't move. The brake arm was still attached to the caliper, and it was stopping the housing from moving. I detached it and it rotated fine. Now the two bolts that hold the housing in place are tight, but the caliper is almost lying on the swingarm. It won't rotate! How can I free this up? If I remove the caliper for now, it will be easier to work on (I assume). I need to get this fixed. Help!!! Thanks.

I've never had this problem on my Mojave, but this was recomended to me incase it does....

You need to take the housing out of the swingarm and remove the brake caliper mount plate. It is held on with a snap ring. Once you have it off, lubricate hte mounting surface with a high quality, water repelant grease if you work on it often. Or you can just clean it up and apply some 'never seize' to the plate's mounting surface.

Hope that helped.

How can I get the snapring off? Which one should I remove, the one near the sproket, or the one near the disc? Can this be done with the axle still in the carrier? Thanks.

Kawi250, you pretty much have to take everything that is holding the axle in off to get to the snap ring. So it would be easier to just get it out of the way. Take the snap ring off on the brake side. That is what holds the brake plate on.

Alright, one more thing, how should I get the axle off??? I don't have anything that big to grab the locking nuts. Should I take it to my local shop? Thanks.

I would go buy a pipe wrench and a pair of channel lock pliers. The local shop will charge you WAY more than the tools will cost.

Well, I still haven't worked on the caliper, hopefully I will get around to it this weekend. I just sold my Go-Kart and have an extra $400. I am already planning on getting Razor tires on ITP .190 rims all around, IDS2 Exhaust, UNI Filter, K&N Jet Kit, DG bumper, and Rear Skid plate. What else should I get with the extra $400? Think I should Go with full skids (Remember, I ride trails, Not Motocross) And Plastics? Or should I go with the works suspension up front? I do not want to get the engine work done now (330cc, FST cams etc..) because I would like ot get it all done at once. Any advice is appreciated.
