A couple of weeks ago i was on the salamanca dice run and i threw my chain and cracked a hole in my side case. My dad got mad at me and said it was from jumping me and my friends track. The track has 30 ft doubles But they have good landing ramps. What do you guys think?

I had the same thing happen. More than likely you're chain was loose. You still should check the swingarm and axle bearings to make sure they aren't worn and allowing the swingarm/axle to move side to side.

Personally, I can not see how you can throw a chain unless it was loose or had a very weak link in it. What year is you Lakota? I always inspect the chain, brakes, frame, bearings and air filter after EVERY ride to ensure nothing got broken or misaligned. It is easy and only takes 10-15 minutes. I suggest you start doing more preventative maintenace on you quad, and I bet you will have much less problems with it. Also, it is important to keep the chain well lubed with a quality chain oil, not motor oil. Good luck.

I have a '01 lakota. I think the reason my chain did that is because the sproket was bent. I was out riding at my cousins house and i got stuck on a hill and i backed down right over a tree and that was the first time the chain fell off. I think that is what bent my sprocket. I do brush the chain off and lube it well. Also do any of you lakota guys have a DG skid plate? Because my skid plate hits my brake rotor and sproket. Thanks.

I have the DG skid. It bends every time I ride and most of the welds are cracked. Who makes the best skid for the lakota? PRM?

I'm not sure who makes a good skid plate. I thought DG made the best but i guess not. The welds on my skid is cracked too. I've only had it since last christmas. I always have to keep pounding it down. Do they make supertrapp discs seperate?

I have heard some good things about PRM products. I may try their skid plate next.

You can order the SuperTrapp discs and endcap seperate. I ordered 6 discs and the stainless endcap then went to the local hardware store and bought the stainless bolts and a tap to thread the holes.
