Hi, I bought a Kawasaki Bayou 220 fomr a buddy of mine for 100 bucks. its in awesome condition except for that it wont go into nuetral.. I have take it apart and its looking ok... i just think that he didnt put it together right... If someone could help me and give me ideas on what could be wrong so its alot easier for me to figure out .. i took the side cover off to see if he put the shifting crap together right. Thanks whoever can help me.

 

Well, really I think the 1st thing to do is, get a shop manual for it. This way you can compare the way it is supposed to be and the way it is now. Sorry, I can't really help you from here, could be many things.

 

What year is it?
I'll give you 200 for it.

 

Like stebob said could be many things, if you can't get to nuetral, it would be that the gear forks aren't in the rite order.
If some how the gear forks are in thier wrong or bent, you would have this problem.
A shop manual is a must here!!

 

Hey, I did get a manual with it, and he had it when he put it together. Its helped me alot.. i was just wondering if anyone in here could give me some ideas instead of gettin into a HUGE mess .. even though im afraid thats what its going to be. It is a 92 i think.. its black .. its pretty cool.. Im going to buy some mudder tires for it from like TSC and say its a great hunting four wheeler when selling it. Thanks any ways though.
