Do you have to stop before pulling in the differential lock trigger on the prarie 650?

Also, I do not have the hitch, if I need to pull someone out who is stuck, were should I connect the hook? I was thinking right at the bottom of the shock. I do not think the racks could handle it.

Thanks

I would go get a hitch , I put one on mine , they are only about 25 or 30 dollars , no sence In taking a chance and breaking a shock mount or worse. Have a good day.

The diff lock you can pull while you are moving. That way it the machine starts to bog down, you can grab it while you still have momentum.

I wouldn't hook it directly to where the shock connects...I would rap it around the axle housing near the oil fill bolt.

It is cake. You take off a little bracket, you'll see when you get there.
Undo some bolts holding the skid. Loosen most of the diff bolts on the rights side and all 4 on the left side (this is really obvious when you get there).
Put the hitch on. Put bolts back. I lost a thimble full of oil. You are supposed to cahnge the diff oil at 10 hours i think, so change it, but only put mobil 424, or whatever kawi calls it when they put it in 1 quart bottles. No gaskets, just O rings, very little spillage, easy.

This hitch is a great thing to attach stuff to for pulling your quad, or pull other quads, or strap the quad to a trailer with one of those giant ratchet straps. Nice and strong. It does not hang out too far either.

I have a good up close picture of my hitch on my 650 website if you wanna see it.

I just put it on last night, didn't lose a drop of oil, it was about degrees so the oil must have been thick. I already changed it at 10 hours so I did not want to have to buy more of the hard to find 424.

Guy
Also, I do not have the hitch, I .

Just to let you all know I got stock with stock tires on my first ride with my 650 .I got stuck in about 2 ft of clay the front end was up to the racks where buried. 1/2 the back tires were buried too. I was thinking right at the bottom of the back shock but had funny feeling .
I do not think the racks could handle it
I had to get pulled out by 2 yahama warriors at once. They hooked up to the bracket on the back rack no problem with it .I thought they were going to bent it but it didnt happen.
I now use my tie down straps on my trailer to the bracket .\
