hey everyone, just thought i should let all of you quad buyers a piece of advice. I went to Sam's club today, and guess what is saw? That's right a brand new prairie 650. and i must say, BUY IT. They were having a special rebate, the total price w/o tax for the brand new 650 was.......$4022. I was so close to reachin for check book, but new i couldn't afford it. For all of you who think i am wrong, check out a local sam's club. P.S. There not going to discontinue the Kawasaki Prairie 300 4x4 are they? i was going to buy one this spring, don't need a 360, just want something to have fun on. Any information would help me.

Warranties are offered and supported by the manufacturer, not the dealer. Dealers get paid by the manufacturer to do warranty work so it shouldn't be an issue. Still, I suspect it could be likely that dealers might give you the cold shoulder since they didn't make money on you on the front end. Electronics is another area where retailers will reject doing warranty work on items they did not sell. When this happens, take the item to another one that offers service but be sure to report the incident to the manufacturer. Most of them like to hear when one of the retailers is trying to hog the market.
You will also come across third-party warranties that some dealers offer on models when the manufacturer doesn't offer one. Polaris dealers once offered these to extend the manufacturer's warranty since evidently, Polaris did not think their quads would be reliable after the initial warranty ended. The point of all this is that you should never buy any motorized vehicle for which the manufacturer does not offer an extended warranty. Be sure to ask who is offering the extended warranty and check your warranty paperwork to be sure it isn't a third party and not the manufacturer.

Yeh, just show up at the three kawasaki dealers I know of and expect to get warranty work done when you bought the quad at wolly word/sams club. That cold shoulder will feel more like a boot in the a$$.
I took my 97 prarie to a different dealer than I bought it from (closer to the house)for some warranty work, the service guy looked at the other dealers sticker on my rear fender and said
" you bought it at Highlands? that's not warranty work- looks more like abuse to me"
And I ended up having to pay for work I felt wasn't my fault.
When the person deciding what is warranty work and whats not is dealer loyal- you had better be at the dealer you bought it from. From then on I've always driven the extra miles to my dealer and have been treated fairly.

Yes, the ATV's are at Sam's however, they are not for sale by Sam's (or Wal-Mart). The ATV's are on display by a local dealer - probably Shrout Suzuki/Kawasaki/Yamaha. Sam's is not selling those ATV's, they only sell the 90cc Chinese model. Sam's does not know how much any of the displayed models are selling for. I think Kaw185 got the wrong information on pricing. I'll get pricing tomorrow after Shrout opens and post it here if it's anything special.

Nothing to see here, just move along, just move along.....
The Kawi 650's in question are going for $7,399 - OTD. Keep in mind though that that price does not include sales tax which supposedly you do not have to pay in MO. They have a voucher/rebate program with that price. Every six months you get a voucher that you must send back within a certain time period. After three years, if you have returned all your vouchers, you get a $2,000 rebate. Since my state would require me to register and title in order to ride on state land, I would be paying sales tax on top of the inflated OTD price making the total deal about 8 grand. In theory, it would cost me only 6K after three years. Once you factor in the money you could make on 2K for three years, it ain't much of a deal. Maybe if you lived in MO it would make more sense
I don't know where the $4022 price came from - probably an after rebate price on one of the other bikes.
