68MPH on a GPS showed 67 on Speedo new tires now I get 66MPH on Speedo and GPS. Why did you choose a Pullaris, then come in here to ask that question? I can say I would not own one (Pullaris), have already experienced that one, a Snowmobile with tires who woulda thunk it.

Mine tops out at approx 100 KM/h. I think that's about 62.Careful there, guy's, those polaris's might be able to take the 780 cc cylinders from they're four stroke sled.An 800 that was clutched properly would be hard to beat.

Yeah, they could punch out those bores and get more cubes.

But, can a 4 valve 780 beat an 8 valve 633? I doubt it. Only if the 633 is detuned, which I know it is. Who is to say that there is not room for more stroke or bore in the 650 either.

The Prairie motor camshaft was specifically designed for low rpm grunt. If you look at the torque curve on hmf's website you'll see proof. Anyone can tell by the seat of their pants too. I bet a cam kit would make the 650 walk all over other stuff at higher RPM. The 660, has almost the same horses as the 650, yet it does not have half the low rpm grunt. A bigger motor with an inferior torque curve can only be due to yamaha having to fudge the low rpm power to keep the high rpm power up where people want it. An 8 valve 2 cylinder could easily be tuned for more.

We all play with pipes, fiddle with filters, and joke around with jetting, but there are more significant ways of adding horsepower to the 650. I bet more aftermarket stuff starts poppin up all over the place for this awesome quad. I know that someone already makes a cam kit for the 650, but I forgot who.

If we hafta get clutch kits too cuz we messed with the camshaft, so what.

Calm down!! I was only supposin'. For all I know the 780 cylinders aren't compatable at all.I think I heard something about the 700SP engine being based on the 4-stroke sled. That's all.It wouldn't surprise me if the 700 was in fact, an extremly detuned 800!!

I KNOW the 650 kicks A$$.I own one!!And we all know you can make more horsepower(even if you only have 2 valves per cylinder)Most of what goes for us goes for them too.

#1 rule of making power: There is NO replacement for displacement.

That said, I wonder where I can find a set of 750 cc jugs for my Kaw?????????

Nyroc,,,I had to find out about bigger cylinders on Polaris.I posted the question in their forum, then I found the answer while I was snooping around over there.

They can't go any bigger,no room for boring or stroking, guess that means the sled is different block.

Poor buggers, you should see the butchering they're doing to try to get the slug to keep up to us.

Betcha there's lotsa room to go bigger on the V-twin.

Anyway, I probably should have looked before I spoke up.Hope I didn't get your hair up!

I was calm. I didn't use a single exclamation point.

I heard it was a sled motor debored, but I did not hear it from a source I could really trust. What you read is probably right.

It is pushrod driven though. I wrote that long post a couple of messages up because I really think that there are a lot more horses to be gained in the 650 due to superior heads and valvetrain. I don't feel that any sp7600 mods will make up for lack of overhead cam and more valves.

I probably won't ever modify much on my quad anyway, most of the guys I ride with have slow rides anyway.

Yeah, you're right. At first I thought it was the sled engine too. That's the only reason I thought they might be able to go bigger easily
