What do you think the BEST Pipe would be for the lakota under 300 bucks and should it be a slip-on or a full system? And which Jet kit would also be the best out there? Thanx! You can get all this from www.rockymountainatv.com for $298 and it includes shipping

I did a GPS run with the jetting not exactly rite, but it did 58MPH. It feels like it's alot faster due to how it accellerates so much faster.
Thier is absolutely no resemblence to the stock lakota, it moves real good.

Ok, So the mods help on accelleration, top speed, and do you think there is much HP added to the enigne after the mods? And about the jetting, I'm new to the sport and i'm always hearing about getting the jetting just right and all. So if it is not to hard could try to explain what it is? And do any of the Jet kits or Pipe kits have instuctions on what jetting # to use, so the jetting is just right. Or do you have to figure it out? Thanx a bunch for all your help!!! I'm not sure about how much horse power that you gain with the mods, I would say atleast 15%, but it does increase the tourque quite a bit.
I don't realy remember much about the stock quad, I moded mine about a month after I got it. But I can say it has a butt load more power and speed.
Even with the mods it doesn't seem to be able to run high revs, you still have to short shift it, but with the mods it pulls alot harder.
I had a belief that the rev was limited to the restrictive air box flow, so I removed a snorkle cap wich is under the front hood. This worked a little but then I believed the head was restrictive as well, and now I know it was as my quad is getting the 322 kit with 10.5:1 compression. I checked the head out while I had it apart, it looked bad, so I ported and polished it and now believe I will get more rev than I need out of it.

Jetting is the key to all of it. Buy a dyno jet kit, fallow the instructions and you will do fine. Although I would like to tell you more, but jetting is a huge subject and after you get the kit you will have a huge understanding on the subject. If you post your jetting after you get the kit there is a bunch of poeple on here that can guide you through the last 10% of it.

I got my skids from www.prm-atv.com, can't remember how much they were, but they have a price list at the site. By far the best skids I have ever seen.

Have you put the skids on yet Gaff? Wondering how they fit. I have high hopes for the PRM stuff. I ordered my new bars today. Renthal 250R bend, silver. Finally get the soft stockers off of there. Hopefully save a pound or 2 as well.

Hey, This forum is supposed to be clean, imformative and fun. It's these kind of remarks/actions that mess things up for everyone!!! Would'nt surprise me if this is one that rides off the designated trails disreguarding "Tread Lightly", does doughnuts in gravel parking lots, passes typical recreational riders wideopen throwing debris all over them, etc.etc... Giving the people that care about the sport and future of it a bad name... Take the Cherokee National Forrest land in TN for instance, ATV's are not allowed to be ridden on any property, just ask anyone of the many that have been ticketed at Tellico TN/NC line..
If you have a bad attitude about Kawasakis, fine, do an advanced search of what you do like. But at least have some dignity and decency to change your sign-on name, if not for yourself at least for this forum and those that use it.
