i have a 99 300 praire 4x4 with 26x12x12 , 26x9.5x12 vampires. i am very pleased with my machine so far. i have about 400 miles on it now. i was wondering if anyone knew of a way to keep water from getting in the trans. it has only happened twice but i would like to run the two rear vents somewhere higher on the bike.is there a kit for this or do i have to rig up a device to fit it?

I have a 300 prarie also. I haven't got water in the trans yet, but I know I'm bound to sooner or later. How did you get the water out? Did you have any problems afterwards?

after my bike was winched out of the bayou, i just let the enging idle for about 10-15 minutes. at first the belt still slipped but ounce you get it rolling it dries off with no problems. i have takin the cover off the trans to clean inside of it and inspect things and things are looking real good so far. i ride in some very extreme bayous and some real louisiana gumbo mud. i don't abuse my machine but i do push it to the extreme.
hope this helps

The only time I got my belt wet, water over the front rack, I dried out the belt by going up and down a long straight away. It would slip at first then gain speed. My dad said the transmission outlet was pumping the water out from behind the storage box as I drove away.
The air box to carb. inlet is lower than I'd like it to be, but I have went swimming with the rear fenders barely over the water with no problem, you just have to keep that front end up.
They are great swimmers though

hey i dont know if this will help but i have a it 200 dirt bike and i used to get water in crank case crossing very deep river so i drilled a hole in the airbox and screwed a nipple into it and ran a new vent hose to nipple and siliconed around it just to be safe and it works mint dont see why it wouldn't work on your machine.
