330cc Kit
#6
I paid $275 for just the kit, wich is a piston kit, sleeve and instructions.
You have to re-sleeve and bore the new sleeve to the new piston.
With a 330 kit, port and polished head, and a cam (assuming you have the filter, pipe, and jetted) you can expect some were in the nieghber hood of 30 HP. but no more. I believe a modded rev limiter will be needed as well.
A 440 kit with basic mods goes any were from 35 to 40 HP. A raptor with some mods goes around 50 HP.
There is many ways to poump a little more or a little less HP out of all these engines but this is an on average HP of each machine. The mojave will need some more detail than the others to maintain the 30 HP and can go further as well, but money will become a issue sooner or later.
Most machines need race fuel or atleast 100 octain at 11.1 compression. The mo comes stock with 11.1 compression, but it is the relation ship of the heads dome and the piston top that makes up the eficentcy of the combustion chamber. When you change that piston you may or may not be able to run pump gas.
I recently talked with lurch and he opted to go with a 13:1 compression, now did that require a connecting rod change, I don't know.
Keep in mind the higher compression you opt to go with the more stress and possible reliability issues may be a concern.
Hope this helped some.
My engine changed from 8.6:1 to 10.5:1 and made a huge difference, but how will the mo react to just a say 11.5:1 upgrade I don't know. Maybe the 13.5:1 will make it more worth the money.
The answer to most of these questions will have to come from mickey. He will give what he suggest you to go to, but I believe he trys to go conservative on non race machines. Wich is a very good idea considering the more reliability you have the better chance the motor will last, and the better chance you will pass a good word on for him.
I did my own work but as far as service and quality of FST product, I would deffinately give him a thumbs up!!!

I drag raced a Banshee with my 330cc Mojave and beat him the only fair start he gave me out of three races. The other times, he would nail it just when my wheels stopped rolling. He would always geta 15' jump on me. That's how far he would beat me by too. Only 15'! The Banshee wasn't stock either. It had the following...
FMF Fatty Pipe/ Silencers
Pyramid RAM Valves
Wiseco Pistons
I know it's not a Raptor, but Oh Well. I have beaten raptors on an MX track though.
