I can't remember but will tell you how and the article did it the same way.
Remove the filter and let it soak a few minutes in soapy water. Then kinda sqeeze it and move it around so the dirt comes off. Also after that use low preasure water to rinse it off. Always rinse from the inside out, meaning the opposite way the air flows through it.
let the filter sit out in the sun and dry naturally.
Then get some filter oil, uni foam filter oil is a good one. Spray the filter oil on the out side of the filter. Let it sit for about 20 minutes then go take a look. It should look like even oil all over it, if not spray it and let it sit out again for 15 minutes or so.
Yes you will see a little run off from the oil were ever you put it out at, this is natural.
The biggest thing is NEVER use solvents, carb cleaner, gas, diesel or brake clean or what ever else poeple dream up on your filters. Also NEVER use air or high preasure water to clean or spray out a air filter.
Thier is many ways but this is about how the mag said to do it and how it usually is posted on the directions of uni filter and K & N filter oil kits or bottles.
Thier is no graet science to this, just many ways to screw it up !!!!!
