Hopefully someone here will have an answer for me. I have a 2000 Mojave and have recently had some electrical problems. I had the stator replaced just a couple of weeks ago and that seemed to take care of a bogging problem that I was having, but now I have a question about jetting and piping. The motor is still stock but I have added a K&N power up kit and a DG Krome series pipe. I am currently using a 132 main jet and the stock pilot. The problem I have is that I don't seem to have the same top end that I had before all the electrical problems started. I am curious if maybe I have something jetted wrong that would cause the vehicle to stutter on top end. One of the mechanics at the dealership I work thinks that I am just bouncing off the rev limiter, but I don't really know if that is what it is. The quad has plenty of bottom and mid range power but the top end is just not what I think it should be. I don't think that it should be able to run 80 or anything but I would like to think that it would be able to hit the mid to upper 50's. I live in the midwest and really don't know what our altitude is. I know that I could go up a tooth on the front sprocket but I don't want to lose any of the bottom end since I ride mostly tight woods but when I do get it out in the open I want to be able to open it up a little. Hopefully someone will have the answers for me. Thank you in advance for any answers that you may have.

Did you check the spark plug after doing a wide open run. Maybe its a little lean. Are you sure it is a 132 main jet you have. If I remember right the kn kits come with a 130 and a 134 but no 132. The mojave uses a 132 factory. If your 3000 ft and under I think they recommend the dyno jet 134 with the needle on the 3rd clip. They also say to bring the mixture screw out 2 turns but I find mine runs best at 21/4 turns.

Thanks for the reply Mental I really appreciate it. I will double check it and see what it is for sure. I will check the plug and see if it is running a little lean. That would make sense that it would be choking for fuel at top end. For some reason I was thinking that the Mojave came stock with a 128 main jet. That is what I thought I saw on Kawi's web site in the on line microfische. I will bump it up if need be and see if that takes care of the problem. I now kinda wish I would have spent the extra money and got the White Bros S-bend pipe like one of our parts guys told me to. THat DG is way to loud, and the wife absolutely hates it. And since it's hers now I may have to go back to stock or sell the DG and get the White Bro's pipe. I just purchased a 2002 KLX300 for me and gave her the Mojave so she would be able to go riding with me. I got the White Bro's Pro Meg for my bike and love the fact that it is fairly quiet but makes a big difference in bottom end power on the bike. I love the bike so far but kinda got a little hacked the other day when I found out that Kawi is releasing the KLX400 (aka dr-z400 with green plastics) later this summer. By the way you heard that here first, and it is a fact. Once again and thanks for the input, it is much appreciated.

I don't think your stutter problem is running lean-running rich causes a stutter on top end-you probably are hitting the rev limiter.
Mojaves will hit it much quicker after pipe and jets-it surprised me a little too at first-I can only run 53 on top before hitting it-I have a ton of throttle left, but no go.
As mentalmojave said though, you probably are a little lean.

I agree with mordr, you're probably hiitng the rev limiter. After finally getting my jetting figured out, I have the same problem. High in the RPM band it starts to stutter (worse in lower gears). I've changed the front sprocket from a 12 to a 13 which did help a little. Are there any electronic gurus out there that know how to modify the Mojave black box??
