I went with 27 Dirt Devils they ride smooth on hard packed and some of the lighter 6 ply tires. They are about the same size as the dunflops in the rear and the front are larger so they have closer rolling distance. I really like tehm and would by them agian. It is amazing what I went through in 4 wheel drive wiht the dunflops but now I can go through it in 2!

See my signature. These tires are in 26". nyroc runs a little different combo.....I'll let him tell you.
Good luck, there's a ton of choices out there!

Yeah, like TRX450 says, see my signature too.

We have come up with these combos for 2 reasons:
1. the lightest tires are better hardpack fun.
2. bigger diameter is better for mud.

These sur trak and spider/mudrunner combos are the lightest 26" tire sets you can get.

I am incredibly impressed with them. Very close rolling distance too. Excellent ride and handling. Good in mud. I jump and wheelie everywhere with them.

Hey guys,

I finally got my Gators on and they look so cool. I will take some pics today. The 12" rears were wider than I am used to but the looks were awesome. It took some getting used to with with low speed riding due to the lug depth. But once I got going the ride smoothed out. All I have done is dirt and gravel riding. We just got plummeted with rain and the ditch behind my house filled with water and mud. As soon as the pics are taken I will give a mud report. Cant' wait!!

NYROC, I almost got the Mudrunners but opted for the Gators. I may get some 25" Mudrunners next summer for dry riding with the occasional mud hole. But the Gators are going to stay on now through hunting season and the snow.

That combo that you have seems to be working great. I am not sure how I would like two different looking tires on my ATV. But I am sure that the hardpack riding is incredible. Light tires, good trail handling, yet the ability to navigate through some mud. Good luck with them.

Daryn

Yeah, Dustanko, I bet your machine is completely different now, and much more unstoppable in the mud.

Different looking tires does not really matter to me.

I like having two sets of tires, so I can change the quad from mud frolicking to dirt throwing.

BTW, it only took me a few minutes per tire to mount them myself. I love mounting tires, it is kinda fun.

I just put on 25" Goodyear Rawhide Grips..... I did'nt loose any height, not to heavy and very smooth. Good thick lugs as well.

Been looking to put new tires on now for a couple of months...Rocky Mountain emailed me and told me they now had the Maxxis All Trac in the rear size. Thinking of going with the stock size in these tires all the way around. I ride hard pack 90-95% of the time. Want a good tire for "SPEED". ANY COMMENTS????

Never owned those, but everybody tells me that the all trak is the best on dirt, hands down.

They aren't very good in sand and mud (and probably snow) I hear.
