we were all out riding the other day and a friend of mine came along on his 300EX. he switched quads for a little while and OMFG...WHAT A DOG!! I've always like the Mojave though it's outdated and 250cc thumper rather 300 but please tell me it's got more pep stock than that 300ex I rode. I mean it was slow! I had the throttle pinned and I was falling asleep and that sloshy suspension was making me sea sick!

I ask this 'cuz I've thought about picking up nice used Mojave for more relaxed and less intense trail blazing or for those days when my brain's too lazy to deal with my Tecate 4. But if that 300ex is any indicator of what a Mojave is...NO WAY. I'll walk.

What do you currently ride? a 250 2-stroke?

What did you expect- massive power? I've got a 300ex, and think its a great quad- not top of the line- but its not intended to be. I bought it because my gf is unlikely to outgrow it, and with good maintenence will last long enough for our future kids to be riding..

i have to agree the 300ex is an excellent machine and ,one that hasn't been thrashed has excellent suspension.yes you are spoiled with my two stroke power. but the mojave is a little faster and only the chassis is outdated the motor is still one of the most high tech fourstrokes on the market.
but on those lazy where comfort is what it's all about the 300ex will get you there very comfortably.and it has electric start.the mojave doesn't have electric start.
but the mojave is a little faster and handles similar to your tecate.and it's cheaper then a 300ex and it's KAWASAKI and it too has reverse.and it's reliable and will get you where you wanna go all the same.

My Mo is faster than a 300ex....and even faster than most mildly tuned 400EXs.

My mojave can beat a 300ex no problem and keep up to a 400ex till about 55mph then he gets the lead , but my top speed is around 60-65 mph

hmmmm....My friend has a piped and jetted Mojave (White Bros. E-series) and we are a VERY close race. He is slightly, I mean slightly, faster than me. I won a few races as well. He will admit that it is so close that it's tough to say. My other friend has a piped and jetted 400EX that just spanks me IN A DRAG RACE. Woods/tight trails, whole other story! I don't think the Mojave, that is just piped and jetted, will keep up with a piped and jetted (or stock) 400EX, IN A DRAG RACE. No way. Again, however, woods/tight trails whole other story.
