whenever i go through a bit of water w/ my '94 bayou 220, it feels like i lose all power for a little bit, then the 4-wheeler just shuts right off. this doesnt happen when u go slow through a little of mud, just fast through a little or alot. any help is greatly appreciated!!

i could be that your intake (air filter) gets covered in water and cannot breath. you should get a K&N air filter with a precharger wrap to help stop that. I have seen that happen to a polaris it takes forever for the thing to run again but it started again. hope that i could help in anyway.

I would say the most likely cause is your plug getting wet. Put some dielectric grease in the plug cap and your problems should be solved.

it will start back up in about a minute right after we let it sit, and then try starting it. oh yeah, i dont know if this will help solve it, but sometimes, after going through the water, the throttle doesnt stick, but no matter what position the throttle is in, the engine revs so high, if you dont shut the atv off right away, it will probably blow. thanks for the answers so far.

yeah i had a bayou that did that too 1985 (185cc). the throttle gets really stuck and revs realll high. thats just the throttle cable being pulled by someting it shouldnt be be pulled by.
